Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of renewable energy policy in the European Union through the European Green Deal during the 2019-2024 period. This strategic initiative, launched by the European Commission under the leadership of Ursula von der Leyen, was designed to drive the transformation toward climate neutrality by 2050. The research employs an interpretative qualitative approach using a literature review of policy documents, official reports, and relevant academic publications. The findings indicate that the implementation of renewable energy policy through the European Green Deal has shown progress, particularly in strengthening the regulatory framework and increasing the commitment of member states. Nevertheless, actual achievements have not yet fully met the ambitious targets set. This condition is influenced by structural challenges, differences in capacity among member states, and the fact that the program remains in a phase of consolidation and early implementation.
