All praise and gratitude be to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala for His blessings and mercy, which have enabled the publication of the Journal of Social and Political Sciences (JISIPOL) Volume 10 Number 2, May 2026 edition. This publication reflects the editorial board’s commitment to continuously presenting scholarly works that are responsive to the dynamic developments in social, political, governmental, and public policy issues at local, national, and global levels.

In this second edition of 2026, JISIPOL presents a wide range of studies that reflect the complexity of contemporary issues in the field of social and political sciences. The published articles discuss various themes, including village governance and financial accountability, the social impacts of illegal trade in border regions, anti-sexual violence movements as forms of social resistance, population administration from a biopolitical perspective, renewable energy transition in the European Union, power dynamics in rural communities, political interests behind international sports sponsorships, evaluation of social assistance policies, revitalization of state theory in response to political oligarchy and dynastic power, and the evaluation of simultaneous elections in improving the quality of democracy in Indonesia. These diverse topics demonstrate that social and political science studies continue to evolve and remain closely connected to empirical realities within society.

The editorial board also continues to encourage research that is not only theoretical in nature but also capable of contributing practically to policy development, democratic strengthening, and the improvement of governance quality. Contributions from authors representing various institutions in this edition reflect the openness of JISIPOL as a collaborative and inclusive academic platform for the advancement of scientific traditions and critical discourse.

We would like to express our deepest appreciation and gratitude to all authors, peer reviewers, editors, and every party involved in the publication process of this journal. The dedication, cooperation, and collective spirit of all contributors have become the main foundation in sustaining literacy culture and academic publication amidst the challenges faced by the academic world today.

Finally, the editorial board hopes that JISIPOL Volume 10 Number 2 Year 2026 will provide academic benefits, enrich scholarly discourse, and serve as a constructive reference for researchers, students, practitioners, and policymakers.
