THE STRATEGIC ROLE OF LAZISMU IN COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT (CASE STUDY OF LAZISMU IN PURBALINGGA REGENCY)

Abstract

Lazismu (Muhammadiyah Zakat, Infaq, and Shadaqah Institution) is one of the zakat management institutions at the national level that focuses on improving community welfare. Lazismu implements long-term social independence programs that are able to manage zakat, infaq, and shadaqah as solutions for the lives of Muslims. The reason for choosing this topic is because it is very important to provide an overview of the strategic role of an institution in serving and empowering the community. In this research, the researcher used a field research type. The primary source in this research was obtained from field data sourced from the Lazismu Purbalingga Regency office. In this study, it was concluded that Lazismu continues to provide support or assistance to all vital community needs such as the economy, food security, education, and health. Lazismu is always present in providing services to communities in need, the empowerment movement carried out by Lazismu is based on Islamic philanthropy. The various challenges that arise are not a barrier to continuing to provide services to all communities in need.
