Angkringan, as an important socio-cultural and economic entity in Indonesia, faces significant operational challenges such as long queues and ordering errors that hamper efficiency. On the other hand, inappropriate digital interventions risk undermining the communal atmosphere that is the essence of the angkringan experience. This research aims to design a user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) for the self-ordering system at “Angkringan Ojo Kuwatir” that can address operational inefficiencies without compromising its cultural value. The proposed research method is a hybrid approach that integrates Design Thinking for deep empathy and ideation, with User-Centered Design (UCD) for validation and rigorous usability testing. The expected result is a prototype of a Progressive Web App (PWA)-based self-ordering system with QR codes that is intuitive, accessible, and able to maintain the “soul” of angkringan as an egalitarian social space.
